Erratum
- A photo caption in the December 21, 2007, issue misstated the date when Jan
Kasofsky, Ph.D., M.S., became executive director of the Capital Area Human
Services District in Baton Rouge, La. She has held the position for 12 years,
beginning six months before the agency began operations in 1996.
- An article in the January 4 issue on the reorganization of military medical
facilities around Washington, D.C., misstated the future status of the Malcolm
Grow Air Force Hospital at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Only the
inpatient service will close under the plan, but outpatient clinics with
ambulatory surgery centers will continue in service.
- The History Notes article in the January 4 issue titled "Famed
Facility's Long History a Primer of Psychiatric Thought" contained two
errors. The article, which recounted the history of Sheppard Pratt, referred
to William Rush, M.D., as the nephew of Benjamin Rush, M.D. Both the name and
relationship were wrong. The sentence should have read, "The activity
program came under the direction of William Rush Dunton, M.D. (1868-1966),
known as the father of occupational therapy, who was a physician at the
hospital (1895-1924)."
