Nominations Invited for APA Awards
APA members are asked to help identify individuals who are deserving of
recognition for their professional contributions and achievements.
Nominations are now being accepted for the following 2008 APA awards:
- Solomon Carter Fuller Award, which recognizes a black citizen who
has pioneered in an area that has significantly benefited the quality of life
for black people.
- Kun-Po Soo Award, which recognizes an individual who has made
significant contributions toward understanding the impact and import of Asian
cultural heritage in areas relevant to psychiatry.
- George Tarjan Award, which recognizes an individual who has made
significant contributions to the enhancement of the integration of
international medical graduates (IMGs) into American psychiatry.
- Oskar Pfister Award, which honors an outstanding contributor in the
field of psychiatry and religion.
Nominations should be in the form of a letter indicating specific reasons
for the recommendation, accompanied by the candidate's biographical sketch.
The deadline is May 1.
