AAMC Honors Manson

Spero M. Manson, Ph.D., a professor of psychiatry at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center, has been selected to receive the Herbert W. Nickens Award of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Nickens is being recognized for his work to advance the health and welfare of American Indian and Alaska Native communities.

Manson, who also directs the university's American Indian and Alaska native Programs, is the seventh recipient of the award, which is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to promoting justice in medical education and health care.

The award will be presented on October 28 at the AAMC's annual meeting in Seattle, and Manson will deliver the Nickens Lecture on October 30. {blacksquare}
