Institute Welcomes Resident Research

Are you a psychiatry resident who has research, ideas, or scholarly activities that you would like to share in a national forum? If so, then APA's 2005 Institute on Psychiatric Services, which is being held in San Diego from October 5 to 9, can provide an opportunity for you.

This year's institute will feature five poster sessions that will make it easy for residents who are working on research projects to present their findings to a national audience. In the past, roughly 90 percent of all poster submissions were accepted for presentation.

In addition to the poster sessions, the institute offers many other experiences designed for residents, including a residents-only welcoming session, leadership and career development seminars, a "Meet the Experts" luncheon with leaders in psychiatric subspecialties, a full-day session on working with homeless mentally ill individuals, and mentoring opportunities.

The poster-submission deadline is June 6. Submission forms can be downloaded from APA's Web site at <www.psych.org/edu/ann_mtgs/ips/05/index.cfm>.
