Meeting in Italy

The seventh annual joint meeting of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry and the Organizzazione di Psicoanalisti Italiani–Federazione e Registro will be held in Bologna, Italy, June 24 to 26. The theme of the meeting is "The Relational Paradigm in Psychoanalysis: In the Footsteps of Silvano Arieti." Silvia Olarte, M.D., a past president of the academy and a clinical professor of psychiatry at New York Medical College, will be the keynote speaker.

The program will include panels on therapy with terminally ill patients, the work of Erich Fromm, and the use of narrative and metaphor in psychotherapy.

Registration is generally restricted to members of the two sponsoring organizations. This year, however, a limited number of APA members will be able to register.

More information about the academy and its meetings can be obtained by visiting <www.aapsa.org> or by calling its office at (888) 691-8281. {blacksquare}
