APAPAC Joins Psychiatrist, Lawmaker
Stephen Sonnenberg, M.D. (left), meets with Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Tex.) this summer in Doggett’s home district, where Sonnenberg resides. Doggett is a key member of the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee and is a cosponsor of the 2003 parity bills that APA supports. The visit is part of an ongoing program at APA—through its political action committee, APAPAC—in which APA members educate federal and state legislators and policymakers about mental health issues.
