ORDORICA WINS PRESTIGIOUS SPURLOCK AWARD

Patricia Ordorica, M.D., winner of the 2003 Jeanne Spurlock Minority Fellowship Achievement Award, poses with (from left) Pedro Ruiz, M.D., an APA vice president; James H. Scully Jr., M.D., APA medical director; and Paul Appelbaum, M.D., APA's outgoing president. The award, named after the former APA deputy medical director who, as head of APA's Office of Minority and National Affairs, worked for many years to ensure that the unique mental health needs of children and minorities were addressed, honors an outstanding alumna or alumnus of the APA/NIMH, APA/CMHS, APA/SAMHSA, or APA/AstraZeneca fellowship.

More information on the APA fellowships is posted on APA's Web site at <www.psych.org/resident/> under "Fellowships and Awards."
