Applications Invited For Congressional Fellowship
APA and the American Psychiatric Foundation are inviting applications for the 2003 Daniel X. Freedman Congressional Fellowship. This fellowship provides an educational opportunity in the area of federal health policy through work experience in a congressional office. Eli Lilly and Company and the American Psychiatric Foundation provide support for this experience.
The six-month fellowship will begin in January 2003 and conclude in June 2003. The fellow may be expected to help develop legislative proposals, track and analyze legislative initiatives, arrange hearings, brief members of Congress and other staff, and interact with constituents.
Applications for 2003 must be received by December 15. The selection and announcement of the fellowship recipients will be made early in 2002.
An application and more information are available by contacting Barbara Matos, administrative director of the American Psychiatric Foundation, by phone at (202) 682-6286 or by e-mail at bmatos{at}psych.org.
