Applications Invited for Scholarship Program For Residents

APA invites psychiatry residents to apply for its new APA/Janssen Resident IPS Travel Scholarship Program for this year’s Institute on Psychiatric Services. This program will support travel and related costs for approximately 15 residents to attend this year’s institute, which is being held October 10 to 14 in Orlando, Fla.

The program is open to all psychiatry residents in an ACGME-approved training program. Nominations must be made by the applicant’s training director or department chair. Nomination materials must include a completed application form; a statement of interest from the applicant detailing his/her experience, knowledge, and career path (not to exceed 200 words); a copy of the applicant’s curriculum vitae; and a letter of support from a residency director or department chair, including the resident’s potential contribution to the field of community and public psychiatry. The deadline for submissions is August 24.

The scholarship program is coordinated by APA’s Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Education and supported through an educational grant from Janssen Pharmaceutica.

Residents may apply online at www.psych.org/careerdev/janssenresidents.cfm. Application forms may also be downloaded from www.psych.org/resident/ and mailed to Nancy Delanoche, APA/Janssen Resident Travel Scholarship Program, Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Education, APA, 1400 K Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20005.

More information is available by contacting Delanoche by e-mail at NDelanoche{at}psych.org. {blacksquare}
